Doodh Poha

Looking for a warm, Easy, nutritious, balanced and delicious breakfast recipe to start your day. Than you have come to the right place. Milk or doodh Poha is one of those easy, quick healthy breakfast to make. Poha is rice flakes or flattened rice. I have used dates, nuts & seeds to keep it high protein & filling. It’s Rich in Fibre, protein & prebiotics. This recipe is a delicacy from the south India, Guajarati and Maharastrian which is a satisfying warm breakfast.

Ingredients:

  • Thick Poha Red/ White 1 Cup
  • Milk Dairy / Plant 1.5 Cup
  • Desi Cow Ghee 1 tsp
  • Dates 3 (seeds removed)
  • Raisins Handful
  • Walnuts, Cashew handful
  • Pumpkin seeds 1 tsp
  • Coconut sliced
  • Green Cardamom 2

    Directions:

  • Wash Poha in water, Drain water & keep aside
  • In a pan melt cow ghee
  • Add crushed cardamom in ghee
  • Roast walnuts, pumpkin seeds & cashews in ghee
  • Add thinly sliced coconut in roast on low heat until brown
  • Add raising and remove roasted nuts & seeds from pan
  • Heat milk into the same pan
  • Meanwhile, in a grinder add dates, milk and almond butter (Optional)
  • Grind to Make a thin paste
  • Add washed Poha to milk in pan
  • Stir to mix well, Reduce heat
  • Add roasted nuts, seeds to pan
  • Add date paste into the pan
  • Mix everything and remove from heat
  • Serve warm Dudh Poha into a bowl

    Enjoy when still warm
