Milk or doodh Poha is one of those easy, quick healthy breakfast to make. Poha is rice flakes or flattened rice. I have used dates, nuts & seeds to keep it high protein & filling. It’s Rich in Fibre, protein & prebiotics. This recipe is a delicacy from the south India, Guajarati and Maharastrian which is a satisfying warm breakfast.
Ingredients:
- Thick Poha Red/ White 1 Cup
- Milk Dairy / Plant 1.5 Cup
- Desi Cow Ghee 1 tsp
- Dates 3 (seeds removed)
- Raisins Handful
- Walnuts, Cashew handful
- Pumpkin seeds 1 tsp
- Coconut sliced
- Green Cardamom 2
Directions: - Wash Poha in water, Drain water & keep aside
- In a pan melt cow ghee
- Add crushed cardamom in ghee
- Roast walnuts, pumpkin seeds & cashews in ghee
- Add thinly sliced coconut in roast on low heat until brown
- Add raising and remove roasted nuts & seeds from pan
- Heat milk into the same pan
- Meanwhile, in a grinder add dates, milk and almond butter (Optional)
- Grind to Make a thin paste
- Add washed Poha to milk in pan
- Stir to mix well, Reduce heat
- Add roasted nuts, seeds to pan
- Add date paste into the pan
- Mix everything and remove from heat
- Serve warm Dudh Poha into a bowl
