Healthy tasty Nutritious sweet, Special treat for Festive season. Its high in protein very nutritious and guilt free recipe.
Ingredients:
- Moong dal flour: 1.5 cups
- Desi ghee: ¼ cups
- Desi khand: 1/3 – ½ cup (as per liking)
- Milk khoya/ mawa: 3/4th cup(120g) OR
- Doodh malai: 3/4 cup
- Turmeric powder: 1/2 tsp
- Some kesar (optional)
Directions:
- Take a pan and dry roast moong dal on low to medium heat
- Once it become aromatic start adding desi ghee gradually
- Keep roasting and adding ghee in small amounts
- Stir constantly to avoid getting burnt
- After adding all the ghee, add turmeric powder for colour
- Avoid using artificial food colour
- Once the dal is nicely roasted and has changed some colour, add khoya stir khoya very well.
- (You can use same amount of doodh malai in case you don’t find khoya. Use khoya for longer storage life)
- Once Khoya is nicely mixed in the flour remove from heat
- Wait for 2-3 minutes then add desi khand in the moong dal mixture
- Combine and mix khand nicely
- Once the mixture is cool enough to touch start making ladoos
- Garnish with choice of dry fruits or saffron
- Follow the same procedure to make the best ladoos be it Atta, Besan, Oats or Millets
- You can make approx. 400-500g ladoos from the mixture
