Healthy phool makhana peda

Made with goodness of carrot and cashews, simple 5 ingredients sweet/ dessert recipe. Its flour free, rich in Fibre and healthy fats. Easy and hassle free to prepare.

Ingredients:

  • Steamed Carrot: ½ cup
  • Cashews: ½ cup (soak for 40 min)
  • Desi khand: 3tbsp
  • Phool makhana: 1.5 cups
  • Desi Ghee: 2tsp

Direction:

  • In a pan dry roast phool makhana on low heat until crisp
  • Meanwhile add steamed carrots to a blender with little water, make smooth carrot puree, transfer into a bowl.
  • Add soaked cashews into the blender, add water gradually to make a smooth paste, the paste should smooth without any grainy texture
  • Once roasted makhana slightly cool, add them to a mixer jar and make a fine powder, transfer makhana powder into a bowl.
  • Melt Ghee in a heated pan and add carrot puree and mix well
  • Once carrot puree is roasted in ghee, add cashew paste
  • Cook both carrot and cashew paste on low heat, add desi khand and mix and cook for 6-8 mins on low heat
  • Cook until the mixture starts to come together nicely
  • Add roasted makhana powder and switch off the heat, mix until well combined
  • Transfer into a bowl.
  • Once slightly cool (you are able to touch it) Make small Peda/ Ladoo from the mixture
  • Garnish with pista or any nuts of choice
