If you are planning to make appe at home, then I have unique recipe that will give the traditional appe a protein-kick.
These High protein Tofu vegetable Appe is a mouthwatering breakfast dish. It’s a meal that sets the tone for the day, and it better be good. When we think of a healthy, flavorful and satisfying breakfast, South Indian cuisine immediately springs to mind.
Crafted from suji, curd, mix veggies and soy paneer or tofu. What makes this dish extra special is its simple and just requires 15 minutes to prepare. They are cooked with very little oil in an appe pan which gives it a unique texture and taste.
INGREDIENTS:
- Suji: ½ cup
- Curd:1/2 cup
- Mix veggies: 1 cup
- Paneer or Tofu: ½ cup grated
DIRECTION:
- In a bowl combine half cup suji with half cup curd
- Add water if required and mix well
- Let it rest for 30 min OR prepare a night before and keep it in fridge
- In another bowl add 1 cup mix veggies of choice, half cup grated tofu or low fat dairy paneer and prepared cued suji mixture
- Add salt to taste and seasoning of your choice
- Add 1tsp Eno, if not using curd (optional)
- Take an appe pan grease it with oil and add the mixture
- Cook on low heat for 3-4 min on one side
- Flip and cook for another 2-3 min on other side
Now Super delicious high protein crispy Appe is ready.
Serve with your favourite chutney.!
