In India, it is famous with the name Isabgol, it’s commonly known as referred laxative name. Mainly consumed to treat constipation, isabgol has a number of other health benefits. Isabgol has high laxative properties and it contains both insoluble and soluble fiber. Isabgol swells upto 10 times when added to water. It is thus a very good prebiotic and is wonderful for the gut health

Dosage
- Dosage of upto 7 grams is considered safe
- Average of 5-10 grams and 3 grams extra with probiotics is safe to consume
- This roughly amounts to around 1 tsp for adults and 1/2 tsp for kids
Side Effects
- Excess or unchecked consumption may lead to bloating, diarrhea, inflammation, vomitting and cramps
